Urban Poverty Eradication Program

1. Background

- The Ministry of Housing and Local Government has been tasked with implementing the task of poverty eradication in the city after the restructuring of the Cabinet on March 27, 2004. Prior to this, the task was under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development. The submission of this function also includes the strengthening of CAPICITY building on the part of KPKT itself and extends to Local Parties as the implementing agency for this ministry.

- The government has aimed at eradicating the hardcore poor by the year and poverty as a whole within five years, irrespective of ethnicity. The government hopes that the urban areas will not have a poor population by 2009. - Urban poverty eradication efforts focus on and prioritize poorer settlements and settlements in urban areas such as squatter villages, low-cost housing areas, new village areas and traditional village areas.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF TOWN POVERTY RADIO PROGRAMS

Goal

a. To provide a healthy, healthy and safe living environment to the group through the provision of income and employment opportunities as well as increased accessibility to basic and public education, health and facilities

b. Foster the spirit of self-reliance and the endurance of the target group through program development and effort building.

Objective

a. Eliminate hardcore poverty by 2009 regardless of ethnic groups.
b. Increasing the quality of the group Target to a level that is consistent with the Quality of Life Malaysia Quality Malaysia (MQLI) which covers areas of education, health, affordable housing and recreation so that they are not excluded from urban development flows; and
c. Bring mind change and inculcate positive attitude among target groups

IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

1. ESTABLISHMENT OF PPKB COMMUNITY Manjung Municipal Council

A. BACKGROUND

- This secretary was created based on the decision of the Committee on Urban Poverty Eradication Program Master Plan, Manjung Municipal Council which was convened on 3 April 2006.

- Accordingly, the Secretariat of the Community and Social Development Department, Manjung Municipal Council has acted to create this Secretariat with a major membership involving all members of the Department.

B. OBJECTIVES OF ESTABLISHMENT OF TOWN OF POVERTY RADIO PROGRAMS

- As an executive secretary in various programs and activities to address the problem of urban poverty in the district of Manjung.

Among the Scope of Work of this Session is: -

i. Implementing identification and further research on data obtained by various sources either through departments and agencies, especially the suitability of information and data accuracy to suit urban poverty eradication program
ii. Help identify poor people and individuals especially in the area of ​​operation
iii. Identify, track and evaluate issues and problems of the city eradication program
iv. Work closely with other government departments / agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private sector and community leaders involved in the implementation of the Urban poverty eradication program
v. Act as a driving force and implementer in any program carried out by the Secretary of the Urban Poverty Eradication Program

Urban Poverty Eradication Program

RETURN OF THE POVERTY POVERTY PROGRAM (PPKB) MANJUNG MUNICIPAL COUNCIL - THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT

1. The Council has been tasked with identifying and approaching target groups, particularly those in the Manjung District municipalities among those who are termed urban poor. This is in line with the direction of the Federal Government through the Housing and Local Government ministries who want each Local Authority to be responsible and ensure Urban Poverty can be solved in their respective areas.
2. Aid and support identification of the urban poor / urban poor underscores that all parties ensure that no one is categorized as poor urban and urban poor in this municipality.
3. The urban poor in this municipality are referring to the poor who are in the area of ​​operation of the Council, especially in areas subject to assessment tax [door tax].

4. Identification of the urban poor based on the Poverty Line (PGK) guidelines for Peninsular Malaysia which are eligible for assistance at least RM660.00 or below household income or per capita income of RM160.00 [household income is divided by the number of dependents / children.
5. The forms of PPKB assistance that can be channeled to those identified involve the form of assistance: -
• Home Rental Assistance - [monthly assistance of RM124 per month];
• Admission to School / Institution of Higher Education (IPT) - [lump sum / yearly fee]
• School Transport Cost Assistance- [Monthly payment of RM 30 per poor student]
• Child Custody Assistance To TASKA / TADIKA / Neighbor / Individual- [monthly payment of RM200 or the lowest actual rate]
• Transport Cost-to-Work Assistance- [Monthly payment of RM50 to urban poor working mothers]
• Help for Kidney Dialysis Treatment Costs - [Assistance for treatment costs incurred during the year including transport costs]
• Training and Skill Assistance [including Motivation] - [Actual Assistance Provided Institution / Organizer â € "certified only - Including monthly allowance of RM150 per month
• Aid Support for Urban Poor / Poor Families:
- One off maximum allowance of RM 3,000 for hardcore poor families.
- One off maximum allowance of RM 2,000 for poor families.
Eligible event categories:
 
(i) Stopped the job (employer's problem) and had been unemployed for more than 3 months;
(ii) Destruction of residential premises;
(iii) Disablement due to accident (self-employed);
(iv) Death of the head of the family; and
(v) Destructive workplace (self-employed)]
